Press Release Ref: PC647
Until recently, the only method of continuously monitoring the emissions of TRS from Paper and Pulp Mills involved a complex system which took a sample from the stack by dilution, scrubbed out the SO2, converted the TRS to SO2 and monitors and displays as TRS. Procal Analytics unique approach was to use Full Spectrum Analysis, utilising the Procal 5000 In-Situ, Continuous Emission Monitoring Analyser. The measurement of the TRS constituents is direct without the drawbacks of sampling which incorporate sample gas conversion.
The analyser is mounted on the wall of the stack with Procal's Enveloped Folded Beam, In-Situ Sample Cell protruding into the stack. The flue gas enters the in-situ cell through sintered panels. The flue gas is then analysed using the stack mounted spectrophotometer. This allows the simultaneous monitoring of UV absorbing gases.
