Procal Analytics have won an order to supply a large Power Station with eighteen Continuous Emission Monitoring Analysers. The order of eighteen PULSI 200LR In-Situ Stack Gas Analysers will monitor the performance of the flue gas de-sulphurisation (FGD) plant. The Multi-Component In-Situ Analysers monitor; Range 1 0 - 20% H2O
Range 2 0 - 300ppm SO2
Range 3 0 - 600ppm NOx
Range 4 0 - 16% CO2
The analysers are fitted on the inlet and outlet of each unit's FGD plant, enabling the operator to monitor the efficiency of the plant.The PULSI 200LR was chosen after extensive tests were carried out by engineers at the power station, who were very impressed by the low maintenance and high accuracy of the instruments. The unique Procal In-Situ technique enables auto zero and calibration to be carried out, whether manually or automatically. A further consideration of the power station, after discussions with the Environmental Agency, is that the instruments had to be approved to the new MCERTS standard.
Procal Analytics have also been awarded the contract to ensure that the instruments are maintained to a high standard, giving a better than 95% availability.
