Ammonia Measurement for People's Republic of China

Procal Analytics have recently won a contract to supply a further In-Situ Ammonia Analyser. The instrument will measure a range of 0 - 200ppm Ammonia (NH3). The customer was very concerned that the corrosive atmosphere within the process could damage the in-situ probe, in this instance, to overcome the potential problems with a highly corrosive process, the analysers in-situ probe was constructed from fluorocarbon coated stainless steel, all parts which could not be coated were manufactured from a Hastelloy, a more chemically resistant material. Procal Analytics have supplied many instruments to monitor Ammonia in various applications, and have specialised in supplying instruments which are capable of withstanding severe conditions.

However, the PULSI 200LR used in this contract retains its capability to auto zero, and, if required, manually or automatically calibrate by introducing certified test gas, traceable to a National Standard, into the in-situ probe, forcing out the flue gas and enabling the analyser to check, and, if necessary, adjust calibration. The PULSI 200LR is an ideal solution for this application. With no consumables needed, and a very low maintenance requirement, the instrument is capable of monitoring low level Ammonia without the effect of cross sensitivity from any of the other gases present in the process. The contract was won by Twin Tek Singapore, Procal Analytics' distributor in the region.
